The protest takes to the streets again. The Presidium of the Valencian Parliament denies the organisation Hablamos Español the right to defend its demands for the free choice of language before Parliament.
That is why Hablamos Español called for meetings yesterday, Sunday. I have translated the report.
„Today we have set up a protest tent in every provincial capital of the Valencian community. We have set up dozens of such tents in the many months we have been collecting signatures in the streets to bring our ILP (popular legislative initiative) for free choice of language before the Valencian Parliament; today's were protest points for the fraud we are being subjected to by the Presidency of the Parliament. We carried out a collection of signatures on terms established by law, and now that we have passed all the procedures, they intend to deny us our rights.
Many people have come to show their support for us, outraged by this injustice. They wanted to pay us for the whistles, to buy us the T-shirts, they wanted to help us pay the legal costs resulting from the legal battle we will have to fight if the Presidium of the Parliament continues to deny us the right to defend the freedom of choice of language before the plenary. They have no counter-arguments and resort to censorship, thus breaking the law.
We have submitted 40,000 signatures, four times the required number. If this continues, we will have to appeal to the Constitutional Court, and in parallel we will take the members of the Presidium to court for the evasions they have made.
So far, only Vox has defended our right to speak before parliament.“
