As early as 2017, the teachers' union AMES, in a study of Catalan textbooks, had demonstrated the indoctrination of pupils in favour of separatism. They were capable of generating hatred against Spain, the Spanish language and everything Spanish. This research was based essentially on differences between books, provided they were issued in Madrid or Barcelona. AMES complained that the Ministry of Education did not have the necessary mechanisms to ensure that only what was in accordance with the Constitution was taught.

Now the Hablamos Español organisation has once again commissioned a study carried out by teachers who work at grassroots level. This study includes in particular the language books and all the Autonomous Communities with regional languages.

The essential result is

In all these places in Spain the following is passed on to the students:

1. they must learn the co-official language as if it were their first language Students are given the idea that their own language does not have to be Spanish but the other co-official language in order to really belong to the place.

2. Spanish is an intrusive language and the cause of the vulnerability of the co-official language.

3. The Spanish has a burden of negativity that the local does not have. It avoids the mention of Spain, replaced by the cold concept of the Spanish State that refers to an administrative entity and not to a nation with what that implies. The term Spain is used to refer to a negative issue.

4) Nationalism is a positive ideology and it is natural that coming from a place with a co-official tongue to sympathize with it.

5. Families who do not speak the co-official language to their children are doing something bad, people who don't talk about it are also behaving incorrectly and are victims of targeted prejudices.
