The organization „Hablamos Español“ collected over 500,000 signatures on the streets in 2018 in order to ensure that Spanish is used on an equal footing with the regional languages in all autonomous areas and that parents are given the right to decide on the language of instruction of their children. For the national elections, „Hablamos Español“ has published a questionnaire with answers.
The questionnaire that I sent to the parties that are competing here in Jávea basically asks the same questions, supplemented by questions about the constitution and the „paisos catalans“, a Catalan empire that the separatists dream of by taking over Valencia and the Balearic Islands, among other areas.
VOX is the only party that gives an answer to the language situation that is liberal, tolerant and that does not presume to impose a language on others. But beware! VOX is just as right-wing extremist as the separatists of all colours. VOX wants Spanish nationalism instead of Catalan, Basque or Galician nationalism. Such a policy can only lead to confrontation and is hardly suitable for finding a peaceful solution.
According to the news of xabiaaldia.com VOX does not compete in Jávea. Instead there is Compromís, who probably see themselves more or less as Greens, although they have entered into a close relationship with the Valencian nationalists (Bloc).
In general, it must be assumed for all parties in Jávea that, on the basis of their responses and the practice of their past and present regional governments, they do not or do not clearly advocate the right of parents to decide on the language of instruction of their children. The party knows better than the parents what is good for the children, does it not?
For the parties that see themselves as to the left of the PP, it must also be said that they close their eyes to reality or deny it and claim the opposite. All public road signs, inscriptions etc. are now only in Valenciano, the youngest children are forced in kindergarten with too much Valenciano instead of Spanish and they call this bilingual.
Very sad! „Hablamos Español“ has announced that it will now collect 1 million signatures.
